The PRIME Registry is designed to support reporting in the first three categories of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) (the final category, Cost, will be calculated by Medicare with claims data). To be able to utilize PRIME for MIPS reporting, you must be enrolled no later than July 31, 2018.

MIPS Eligible Professionals (EPs) will report on three categories:

  • Quality Measures-Replaces PQRS
  • Improvement Activities-New category
  • Advancing Care Information-Replaces the Medicare EHR Incentive Program also known as Meaningful Use
  • Cost-Replaces the Value-Based Modifier
